We stayed at the state park for 3 days, nice park with electric and water only, they also had Internet. The park was located just a short distance from the French Quarter in New Orleans. The park was located along the Marceffo Canal and Levee which was pretty interesting (never seen a levee and locks).
Weather wasn't great, but we still did manage to get into New Orleans for a few days. We went to the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, such a beautiful church; we also walked along the famous Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. We stopped to watch a group of acrobatic street performers, fantastic, a really unique performance. There were musicians, bands, magicians, and various other performers throughout the streets in the French Quarter. Even in Jackson Square along the river front there were many other street showing performers.
They were getting ready for Mardi Gras which was just a few days away, we ate at the Gumbo Shop, this was my first time sampling the local cuisine. Good food we both liked it.
