We stayed at this campground for a week, a large parking lot with full services.
One day we walked over to the train station in Williams as it was ‘Williams Train Day’. Got to see some old trains and what they looked like back in the day.
We also took a train ride to the Grand Canyon as noted ‘Grand Canyon Railroad’. They gave us about 3 hours to wander around the South Rim before we had to leave, but still nice going back there again.
Another day we took a ride in to ‘Sedona, AZ’, the scenery is so beautiful. On our way we stopped at ‘Slide Rock State Park’, we really enjoyed the park it was just beautiful. While in Sedona we took Pat’s suggestions on what to see and where to eat; we went to the Oak Creek Brewery for lunch, they had great food and a beautiful view. Also went to the ‘Chapel of the Holy Cross’, which sits on top of the mountain, it was so peaceful & beautiful there.
Another day we walked back into the town of Williams and walked along part of the old Route 66, taking in an old fashioned ice cream parlor, a walk back in time.
We also took a ride to ‘Walnut Canyon National Monument’; Gerry took the trial down into the canyon among the ancient Indian cliff dwellings.
